Troubled Board of Equalization Building Faces More Problems

There's another problem at the Board of Equalization's troubled downtown headquarters.

A fire system pump that has stopped working.

It's supposed to direct water up and down the tower's 24 stories, but is in need of repairs that could take more than a week to complete.

In the meantime, The Sacramento Bee says the building at 450 N Street is on a "fire watch."

That means someone is continually walking the floors to look for hazards.

They can't do any other tasks, just walk each floor on a continual basis.

The building has a history of falling windows and mold. Lawmakers are considering a bill for a new headquarters.
