The Smithsonian National Zoo is preparing its famous panda cub for her public debut. Bao Bao, the nearly five month old cub, met the media for the first time earlier Monday morning at the zoo. Zoo keeper Laurie Thompson says she is very healthy.
"She's actually building up her muscles and learning how to climb and just everything that a baby does. Takes a few tumbles here and there but honestly she is so dense and full of fur that it doesn't bother her at all," Thompson said.
Bao Bao is said to be more calm and relaxed than her older brother Tai Shan. She will be unveiled to the public on January 18th.
