Roseville Makes Plans for Upscale Hotel, Conference Center

They're a few handshakes away.  Roseville could soon build a hotel and conference center near the Galleria.

Plans call for a 250 room hotel and 25,000 square feet of conference space near the mall so groups wouldn't have to drive down to Sacramento to host large events.

"The budget we're looking at is $70 million.  It's a public/private partnership, split evenly," said Development Manager Mike Isom.

He says the city is in talks with a South African Investment firm and officials will make a trip to Johannesberg next week.

"The hotel tower itself will be ten stories plus a mezzanine.  The conference center is single story," Isom said.

The city is serious about this project.  There's already a stretch of road named Conference Center Drive.
