NEW JERSEY -- More than 50 businesses have been destroyed after a wind-whipped fire devoured eight blocks of boardwalk along the New Jersey shore Thursday.
The 6-alarm blaze began in the area of a frozen custard stand in Seaside Park.
Strong winds from an approaching storm quickly fanned it into neighboring Seaside Heights.
After months spent rebuilding after Superstorm Sandy, N.J. Gov. Chris Christie said the scene made him "want to throw up."
