Modesto Police Investigating Stabbing Involving Teenage Girls

A 13-year-old girl reportedly stabbed two other girls in her home during a sleepover over the weekend.

Modesto police were called to a home on the 2600 block of East Orangeburg Avenue early Saturday morning.

Heather Graves with Modesto Police says a 13-year-old girl stabbed her 11-year-old sister, her friend, and then turned the knife on herself.

"When officers arrived they saw three young girls with stab wounds, and they were rushed to area hospitals where two are listed in critical condition and one is listed in serious but stable condition," Graves said.

Graves says she has never come across an incident like this before.

"Thirteen years in law enforcement and I have not heard a story like this," she said.

Police have not come out with a motive for the stabbings.
