Lawyers Attempt to Move Eminent Domain Lawsuit Out of Sac

Lawyers trying to prevent the City of Sacramento from seizing a piece of property needed for a new Downtown Arena are trying to get the Eminent Domain lawsuit moved out of Sacramento. The lawyers represent C-III (C-3) which owns the former Macy's men's store in the Downtown Plaza.

The main contention is that C-3 wants $10 million for the property while the city is only offering about $4.3 million in its eminent domain claim. Lawyers want the trial moved out Sacramento Superior Court and into the Alameda Superior Court. The Kings have already spent $36 million buying the rest of the site for the proposed arena.
