A federal prosecutor is going to conduct a review in the case of a
U.S. Attorney Michael Moore said on Thursday that he thinks a criminal investigation is necessary in the death of Kendrick Johnson, and that the FBI will conduct it. This announcement was made just one day after a judge ordered authorities to release all surveillance video associated with the case, at the request of the teen’s family.

Kendrick's body was exhumed for a second autopsy. The private pathologist found that some of his organs were missing and that newspaper had been used to fill his body.
The pathologist ruled that Kendrick died of non-accidental blunt force trauma.
