Campaign Disclosure Bill Fails by One Vote

Democrats in the state Senate fell one vote short in their effort to force political nonprofit groups to reveal their donors this election season.

The vote came as both Rob Wright and Ron Calderon are on leave of absence as they deal with their own political scandals.

All the Republicans voted against the bill, which needed a two-thirds approval to pass.

The measure is in response to $15 million in anonymous contributions during the 2012 campaign.
