Just days before the city of Sacramento is set to take control of the former Macy's men store downtown, attorneys for the former property owners are reportedly appealing the eminent domain ruling.
The Sacramento Bee reports tonight the lawyers are contending that the city did NOT make a proper offer and undervalued the cost.
While the city assessed the building at about $4.3 million, mortgage reps valued it at $10 million.
Attorneys are asking for the court to stop the transfer of control of the property, which sits on much of the land city leader's hope to use for an entertainment and sports complex.
The property transfer is scheduled for Tuesday.
