Statewide Heat Warning in Effect

State health and emergency officials are urging Californians to prepare for the excessive heat that is forecast through Monday throughout much of the state. The Department of Public Health says prolonged exposure can be extremely dangerous, especially to children, seniors and those with health problems. An average of 56-deaths in California each year are caused by heat-related emergencies.
