Make sure you lock your car doors. There's a newly released report that has California filling up the top ten list of cities with the most car thefts per capita.
Among cities with a population of at least 100,000 people, California cities account for 8 of the top 10 car theft hot spots. The National Insurance Crime Bureau reported that Modesto is the worst in the nation with a car theft to resident ratio of 816 to one. Fresno comes in second, followed by Bakersfield and Stockton.
Sacramento doesn't crack the top ten list, but it comes close at No. 13 with ratio of 482 to one. Experts say one of the biggest deterrents is to take your keys and lock your car.
