No Area Cooling Centers Set to Open

Two area counties have released heat advisories for residents as the temperatures inch closer to the hundred-degree mark.

In Yolo County the heat advisory came from the county, and in San Joaquin County it came from Public Health Services.

Yolo County spokesperson Beth Gabor said they're not opening cooling centers just yet because the forecast is predicting nighttime temperatures that are lower than 70 degrees. That drop in temperatures does offer some relief.

And for those who can't cool down in their homes or workplace, Gabor suggests frequenting locations that do have air conditioning such as public libraries, shopping malls and movie theaters.

No local county has said they will open cooling centers for the next week, including Sacramento County.
