Testosterone Drugs Increase Risk of Heart Attack

A consumer advocacy group is calling for a "black box" warning on popular testosterone drugs for men in light of growing evidence that the hormone treatments can increase the risk of heart attack.

Dr. Sidney Wolfe of Public Citizen explains why.

"There are an overwhelming niumber of studies -- overwhelming because they all come to the same conclusion -- that there's an increased risk of heart attacks and serious heart problems from these drugs," Wolfe said.

He says says the Food and Drug Administration should require its most serious type of warning on all testosterone medications.
