Some Californians Can Keep Their Doctors Under Obamacare Afterall

There's good news for those seeking serious medical treatment who are afraid of losing their doctor because of new guidelines under the Affordable Care Act.

Governor Jerry Brown has signed into law the Continuity of Care bill.

"It helps people who might have lost their insurance at the end of the year because of the patient protections in the Affordable Care Act, if they're plans didn't meet those protections," Assemblyman Dr. Richard Pan said.

Pan authored the bill and says this gives those patients the choice to keep their current doctor and treatment even if they were signed under a new health care plan.

"We want to be sure that people can complete the treatment they've already started, even if they had to switch plans because of the health care act," he said.

The bill goes into effect immediately.
