Could a Flu Shot Prevent a Heart Attack?

A new study from researchers at the University of Toronto claims that flu shots can help lower the risk of heart attack.

According to research published in the "Journal of the American Medical Association," patients who received a flu shot in clinical trials were less likely to have a cardiovascular event such as heart failure compared to those who received only a placebo.

The results were especially good among patients who had pre-existing coronary artery disease.
